I was with it for four years when I was a teen. Then, 20 years in public affairs and event coordination in the navy (retired now). Then several years in car sales, from salesman to general manager. Then, I created and operated thefedorastore.com for 7 years. I am selling the business in two weeks, buying a motorbike and going full time. Selling our house and a store in south Dakota. Looking for a concession and games management job one the road with a show that has a solid full schedule. We just want to supplement our nest egg and my military retirement. I am 50, my wife is 28. We are problem, drug, and drama free - fun loving easy going folks. I have long been a beloved and respected leader, manager and mentor to many. I saw an ad on carny town that you might be looking for someone like me. I have missed the carny life ever since I left it. Now, as a self sufficient mature adult, I look forward to coming back. Back when I did it, I worked as an alibi agent in gypsy cat racks, fluqui ball, scissor buckets, etc. I would prefer to do something cleaner and more honest at this point in my life. My solid and honest values have provided me with good karma. Give me a call or drop an email. You would be surprised at the wide array or worldly experiences I can bring to the table.

Currently wintering in Florida. Will have to go home to SD prior to hitting the road and taking a position.

I was born into the business and from the messages I have read all the respondents sound like forty milers. I bet they couldn't find the donikers! Heck they don't know the difference from a cat rack or a six cat. Anybody know what a Possum Belly Queen is? My Pop wouldn't let me me stick my nose in the front end of the business. I had to start by handling punk rides but I soon wised up & started to count the marbles 3,6&9 look on the board for #39 ! The scratch came easy & large, man it was soft for a long time. Any other clerks like me still around? Respond to Texas Mad Dog at Razzle Counter Yahoo.Com.

I do not work for Crabtree, but I know that a day at the carnival could easily eat up hundreds of dollars per person if you let it. ... My daughter and I love going to the Gilmer Yamboree! I see that rides will be half price Wednesday night this year. $15 for an armband on Thursday, $20 for early in the day Friday and Saturday. I would suggest you take your kid(s) either Wednesday or Thursday, set a budget and explain that this year they will only be able to pick their favorite items. I will probably get my 9 year old a wrist band and give her $10 to play her favorite game and get her favorite snacks. We can stick a picnic dinner and drinks in the car to save money.
