Once again, Tripple “T” Amusements provided the midway at our local fair. To be honest, I was disappointed to see their trucks drive up. The last few years they have brought broken down rides and shady looking people to operate them. Why do I keep going back? Because it is a tradition in my family and we still have a good time!
They brought less rides this year. I am not sure why. But I was glad to see that they brought back some of our favorites, in much better condition!
The Tempest
The tempest has been one of our favorites since my daughter was 6 years old. Exciting enough to be fun for me, and calm enough for her to feel safe.
The problem? In previous years, they brought a very worn out Tempest. Snapped wooden seats, worn seat belts. Of course they didn’t load people in the broken seats. But sitting next to or across from a piece of snapped wood was enough to make me question the safety of my own ride.
The Dragon Wagon
My daughter’s favorite, by far, is the Dragon Wagon. It is like a miniature roller coaster for little kids. In previous years this ride squeaked and made racket like it was worn out and ready to break down. But this year – everything ran smoothly! It also had a ride operator who seemed to closely follow the safety rules. (I saw him turn down several kids who were really too small to ride.)
The Octopus
Being trapped on top of the Octopus with a guy I liked may have been a fun adventure in 2007. But it is not one that I would want myself or my friends to repeat. – I am happy to say that this ride was also running smoothly and appears to have gotten some much needed repairs.
The Bad
It wasn’t all 100% good with Triple-T this year. But my few complaints are very minor. A chip in the paint here, a decorative panel missing there. I don’t think I would have even noticed them much if I hadn’t been specifically looking.
Anyhow, thanks Triple “T” Amusements for making my carnival going experience a good one this August! I am glad that my town brought you back, so that I could see how far you have come
