Crabtree Amusements is by far my favorite carnival. I will get more information and pictures as the opportunities arise.

To the left, we have a picture of the lovely Queen “B” of the Crabtree Amusements Lucky Ducky.

Queen “B” is one of the many people who help keep the carnival wonderful. I even have email from other carnival-goers talking about how wonderful she was with the kids.

Crabtree Amusements now uses Tokens!

As of 2008, Crabtree Amusements now accepts tokens for rides and games. — No more waiting in line to buy tickets. No more handing a game person cash.

I have mixed feelings about the tokens. I don’t 100% trust machines to give me the right amount, but the machines at Crabtree Amusements haven’t shortchanged me yet. With token machines conveniently located around the lot, getting those last few tokens you need for a ride or to win a prize at a game is a much faster process.

The bad parts: Token machines don’t provide change and they don’t accept large bills. Be sure to have plenty of small bills with you. (Unless you don’t mind having an extra token or two at the end of the day.) If I remember correctly, the machines I saw at Crabtree Amusements only accepted 1′s, 5′s, 10′s, and 20′s. No coins and no bills over $50.

Also, you need to know that tokens aren’t for everything. I hear that Crabtree tried making them be for everything in Colorado in early 2009. (By everything I mean games, rides, and concessions – both those belonging to Crabtree and those run by the townspeople.) It didn’t go so well. … If there is something you specifically want, make sure you know if it accepts cash or tokens.

Don’t like change? You can still buy wristbands from people at the ticket booth. Wristbands are a great deal for people who ride a lot of rides!

Hi there, was wondering what dates Crabtree Amusement’s Carnival would be in Austin texas in 2012 and how to contact them via phone or email or anything really.

    Thanks,

    Phillip Wainwright

  • I would like to know how someone can expect a family to pay 45.00 to let a child have fun for a day anyone with more than one child is at a disadvantage a carnival should be a joy not a burden for a family in a small hometown I live in Gilmer Tx. and you will be in our town next week.

    • I do not work for Crabtree, but I know that a day at the carnival could easily eat up hundreds of dollars per person if you let it. … My daughter and I love going to the Gilmer Yamboree! I see that rides will be half price Wednesday night this year. $15 for an armband on Thursday, $20 for early in the day Friday and Saturday. I would suggest you take your kid(s) either Wednesday or Thursday, set a budget and explain that this year they will only be able to pick their favorite items. I will probably get my 9 year old a wrist band and give her $10 to play her favorite game and get her favorite snacks. We can stick a picnic dinner and drinks in the car to save money.

It sounds like you are an individual person. You should contact the El Paso Chamber of Commerce and ask who to speak with about bringing Crabtree back. … I am glad to hear you enjoyed them!
